Quick family break -
Mount Stuart Hotel is a small and friendly place perfect for family breaks. Easy and convenient booking directly through their website allowed us to spent reasonable amount of money for bed and breakfast for all less then 5 minutes walk from the beach. We didn't come to Bournemouth to spend time indoors so the most important was to have clean and comfortable place to crash after day out. We were very satisfied with simple and hassle free service. Thank you
Dear Mrs Lela,Thank you very much for your lovely review - we are pleased that you enjoyed yourbreak with us at the Mount Stuart and hope to see you in the future.Kind regardsDavid and Sandy Oliver

Hotel is great location for walking into town or to the seafront. It is very hilly though! Accommodation was quite basic, could definitely do with updating the bed linen. However it was clean and comfortable enough. Good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.

This hotel was amazing! It was clean, tidy and comfortable. The staff were brilliant, so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning later this year and in future years. It has the great advantage of being so close to the town centre and having parking facilities. The full English breakfast and extras were included in the price of the room also. I cannot rate this place high enough! It was perfect.

Nice staff, great location -
We were attracted by the fact we could stuff all 5 of us into a single room.It had a double bed &3 single beds, which was great. We were slightly surprised to find no soap in the bathroom, but it had towels &the shower was nice &warm. We opted for the breakfast option, which was tasty &you get the choice to double everything on your plate for a couple of extra quid.Fruit juice, tea &coffee, toast &cereal thrown in too.The staff were brilliant - really friendly, and sorted anything we needed within a few minutes. Also, the hotel was quiet at night.Only 100m or so from the beach, and close to an Indian, English &Italian restaurant or two, plus many others. For all of us the price was great too.All-in-all, would definitely recommend.
Dear Mr Williams,Thank you for your glowing review and we are pleased that you and your family enjoyed your stay with and hope to see you again next year. Sandy, David, Matt and Jon Oliver, Mount Stuart Hotel

Felt like home -
We had a very nice stay at the Mount Stuart hotel. It was so comfortable and relaxing, it felt like home. The staff were all very nice, I was helped with my bags to the room, and they were always ready to help. The breakfast was lovely, so lovely I could have done with an extra piece of bacon, and everything was clean. The bar had a good selection of drinks and crisps, and with the key to the front door, you can come and go as you please. We had a good telly with lots of good channels in the bedroom, and we were placed in a room where we would not hear the noise from any noisier guests. If there was anything to fault, it would be that the bath in our room did not have a shower overhead, so it could do with one of those shower attachments you stick on the taps for when you get back from the beach, although we used a bucket from the beach to wash hair, which basically did the job, apart from there was obviously sand in the water from us- the desk could have had one though, we didn't ask. The kettle tray would be better on the desk rather than in the wardrobe and perhaps a pack of biscuits may be nice, but that's just being picky. There is free parking, however sometimes people bring more than 1 car, so it can get full, and although the staff are very helpful in remedying this and allowing double parking, you would have to leave your keys if you went out, or have to ask the hotel staff to move other cars to get out of the space to go anywhere or go home, but this is all done quickly and efficiently. But I definetly cannot complain, because I have been staying in this hotel for 20 years, and that says something- all my family have, and we love it. As long as this place has vacancies, this is where we will be staying, even if we win the lottery. We know that this hotel will always be clean, always friendly, and it is a safe, welcoming, lovely place. We stayed in the Lampeter hotel 2 years ago and my little one did not take to that at all, the parking was horrendous, having to leave your keys for the entire stay, the staff were rude, and it was so noisy. But when we stayed here at the Mount Stuart, my little one called it 'our new house' and immediately assigned our beds when we walked in, and she loved it, she felt as comfortable there as I did, and there was programs for her to watch on the television, and she enjoyed the breakfast, although she's more of a shreddies or coco pops person, and it's so close to the beach, gardens and shops, and if you need any bits or bobs to eat, drink or use, there is a little convenience store to the end of the street and to the right, which is useful. If you want a hotel that has free parking, is clean, is friendly, has a nice breakfast, is within a good distance, is welcoming, and is convenient, then definetly choose this one. Another thing I like is that they do not allow pets, because I stayed at the Bath Hotel once, and the whole room was covered in dog hairs, and I hate that. If a hotel says 'pets welcome' I will not stay there. So I am glad of this hotel. All my family thoroughly recommend it. Thankyou for our great stay!

This was one of the few B+Bs we found that advertised rooms for a family of 5. We rang and were told that their room advertised for 4 could quite happily take 5, as it had lots of beds, so we booked the room. The man we spoke to told us to book it through the website rather than with him, but this was a pretty straightforward procedure.Check-in was straightforward and friendly, parking was free as was the fast wifi.Room was large, warm and clean. Bathroom tiny but it was en suite and the shower was good so not a problem as we were only there for one night.Breakfast simple:cereals, fruit juice and cooked. All fine. Location good- town centre and beach both 5 minutes walk away down steep hill - shortcut to town down steps to left of B+B - just don't leave it until you're exhausted before heading back up!Slightly disappointed to get a call asking us for another £10 the next day as we had 5 people in the room but when I explained about the phone call they gladly waived this without fuss.We would definitely stay here again if we return to Bournemouth.

our stay at the Mount Stuart was very pleasant. We were very nervous after reading about the stag and hen do's, but as we were a mid week booking we didn't see or hear any. It was something that would of put us off booking this hotel had we read the reviews first. The hotel is basic but clean, although bathrooms could do with updating and wardrobes, toilet in our room (rm10) was badly stained but clean and wardrobe ..well falling to pieces. Owners/staff were very friendly and welcoming and put themselves out to make sure we had up to date info on what was on around Bournemouth. Breakfast again basic in choice, but beautifully cooked and a rarity in ANY hotel we had HOT toast every morning!! Close to the town, gardens or beach, a few minutes walk. It is uphill coming back but a taxi was just £3-80 or catch the bus up Priory Road and walk down to hotel. All in all we recommend it but don't expect it to be 4*
Dear Ms Rodda,Thank you for your nice review and we are pleased that you all enjoyed your stay with us.You are quite right - Room 10 isdue to be totally refurbished including a brand new shower room to bring it in line with some of our other rooms.
